Untitled Supper Club

"We're huge fans of the Wisconsin Supper Club and were excited to try this place. The website had us really expecting something wonderful, but it's honestly all a facade. The vibe is definitely super cool and we loved the ambience, but we were led to believe this was a super classy, cocktail attire type place and were surrounded by people in shorts and polos, so we felt highly overdressed. But worse than that ... the food and beverages were just gross. I ordered an extra dirty martini which was sweet. (What?!) I brought it to the attention of the server, who told me that perhaps the bartender used a shaker that had a sweet cocktail in it before. What the heck? Wrong on so many levels!!! 1) You should be using a clean shaker. 2) This was way sweeter than just a "remnant of previous drink." I was super disappointed, but willing to overlook it. Unfortunately, our apps weren't any better. The tartar had a very strong, fishy taste that was repulsive. My guess is way too much anchovy paste but whatever it was - it didn't belong - and we couldn't even choke it down. It was a shame, too because the presentation was super cool with the smoker dome. My husband ordered oysters and found a bunch a sand it them. We were there to celebrate my birthday and had planned to stay for the show, but the cocktails and apps were so bad, we ended up booking a second reservation at a place down the street and decided to cut our losses. There are definitely better restaurants and even supper clubs in Chicago. We won't be back."
