Rasika West End

"Went on a Friday afternoon. We order veggie biryani which I found OK but wife pointed out that it was more Pulao than Biryani, and did not appear to be cooked with the usual extra long grain Basmati rice. I found it flavorful and the quantity ample for two. The cucumber raita accompanying it was tinged with a flavorful mix of spices. The Pistachio Malai Kofta we ordered was a nice twist on the Cashew based recipe, it was quite mild, but it brought out some of the less appreciate flavors. We would both have preferred it to be more flavorful. The goat cheese kulcha bread, the mint paratha and garlic naan were all flavorful. The service was reasonably quick, staff were polite. The decor seems eclectic rather than thematic. Based on the hype surrounding Rasika, we were perhaps trapped by our own high expectations, only to be overwhelmed. For the discerning Indian palate, this might be rated average to above average. But if you are not immersed in Indian culinary experience day in and day out, I would recommend you try this place at least once. My rating 8.5 / 10. My wife' s critical rating 6 / 10. To be fair, going again, and trying other items is the only way our scores will reflect the quality of food at Rasika West End."

"Food wasn’t great. Weird menu. Have tasted better Indian food just about anywhere in UK. Disappointing."
