"4 of us went this Sunday night, receipt and pics all available. All of us started throwing up early Sunday morning. We all had to go to the hospital. It’s been determined that we have Staphylococcal Food Poisoning. This is the only thing we ate together. We called the restaurant and of course they’ve completely denied. So if anybody has the same experience we need to speak up. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Already reported to the authorities. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT CLEAN FOOD THAT WONT TAKE YOU STRAIGHT TO THE HOSPITAL"
"If you're a connoisseur, La Mercerie might not be the most authentic French restaurant in New York, but it's certainly one of the most quintessentially French restaurants in the modern New York aesthetic, in my opinion. Hidden within a French home furnishing boutique in SoHo, from the moment you step inside, it's hard to tell if you're there to eat or to browse a design and fashion store! The space is elegant yet unpretentious, perfectly embodying the French pursuit of a refined lifestyle. The cuisine is predominantly contemporary French, with an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs busily preparing their dishes. The signature crêpes are silky thin, slightly crispy at the edges, soft in the center, with delicate layers of cream and pasta flavor; the French onion soup is rich yet not heavy, achieving a beautiful balance between the sweetness of the onions and the depth of the broth; the seafood is also prepared as expected. Compared to many high-end French restaurants that focus on technical stunts, La Mercerie prioritizes the quality of the ingredients and the overall ambiance. Sunlight streams through the floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating the white tableware, linen tablecloths, and impeccable service, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of Paris's Left Bank. La Mercerie feels less like a restaurant and more like an experience of French lifestyle aesthetics. This food connoisseur has visited New York several times, making sure to dine there almost every time, reliving the pleasures of business trips to Paris!"
"The atmosphere is so pleasant; I felt happy and special as soon as I walked in. The place is beautiful, full of light, greenery, and elegant, well-dressed, and sophisticated people. The food and service are excellent, and they have a really interesting furniture and decorative items shop. Looking at the photos from that day makes me want to go back and stroll through Soho and have lunch there again. Highly recommended and Instagrammable. Every corner looks like a picture from a decorating magazine. It's all gorgeous!"
