"Jules Mae Saloon has the RUDEST bar staff I've ever interacted with! The man who was taking care of my tab was extremely snooty, dismissive, condescending, patronizing, and outright antagonistic towards me and my friend the entire time we were at the bar. He even sneered and gave me crap when I asked for clarification on something. He said stuff like "Well I was addressing YOU when I SAID it..." He also didn't even bother to put in my food order correctly. I had asked for extra sauerkraut on my Rueben as he was putting my order in, but the whole time he just had this annoyed & "I really don't care" attitude, and he didn't bother hiding it. My Rueben didn't have extra sauerkraut when I got it. When I closed my tab, I wrote "rude service" on the line for the tip amount, and only paid for the food and drinks I ordered. This same staff member FOLLOWED ME OUTSIDE to the parking area and demanded to know why I didn't tip! (If I weren't already a big dude who can handle myself, this would've terrified me!) But I took him up on it and listed out specific things he said to me and my friend that made our experience at Jules Mae very unwelcoming. First response: he was stressed because he was busy the entire night. ...But every person who works behind a bar counter deals with that, and none of them I’ve ever met were as rude as him! Second response: it was all actually just harmless playful banter, and that I was in the wrong for not catching on to it! ...Wait, was it stress or just playful banter? Pick an excuse and stick with it, dude. Then I informed him that my food order was messed up, to which he said that he wasn’t the one who put it in... Even though I *watched him* put in my food order! Final response: “I got all of the feedback I need.” Then he just walked back inside. He didn’t apologize or express any kind of remorse. He just wasted my time by making excuses, gaslighting me, and insulting my intelligence! The owners don't care either. I wrote to them at least a month ago about this episode and recounted every detail of that night and described the staff member that CAME LOOKING FOR ME after I paid for everything, and they never responded to my email. I guess being "Seattle's Oldest Bar" has made the owners of it complacent. Anyway, there are plenty of other bars and kitchens in Georgetown that are far more deserving of your hard-earned money; I suggest spending it at one of them."

"Jules Maes is one of the oldest bars in Seattle and one of my favorites. Just a really cool place to relax with the antique safe, an old phone booth, etc. I haven't tried the food but will report back. 🙂"
