"We googled best dive bars of Long Beach when we were there for an event and this place came up. I'm not sure I would call it a dive bar in the true sense of the word. It's very nice, authentic, vintage. It seems to be family owned with a very devoted Local following. Maybe it is a dive bar, I don't know. They just serve beer, which was interesting. We didn't try the food but the bartenders were great. Go to the back room for sure. That's all the cool stuff is."

"OMG what an absolute gem this place is and totally worth a drive or detour to Long Beach! For starters, I had the absolute BEST and freshest egg salad sandwich I've EVER had and wait for it, it's only about $4 (in 2026!). My buddy also had two sandwiches he enjoyed including a polish sausage. I also had a huge ice-cold Busch beer + pretzel sticks and 2 pickled eggs. Grand total was $23!! Needless to say, I tipped them really good! The place is historic (for SoCal!), open since 1924, it was packed on a Friday evening. Note that they stop serving food at 9pm and it is cash only but the service is very quick and efficient. I will be back very very soon!!"
