"I would not go back/recommend this place, especially after my experience with the server. Food Food was ok, definitely overpriced for their portion size and the mediocre taste. Their karaage and bagel stuffed with ice cream were good, but everything else I had tasted like they were poorly heated up with microwave. Service Easily the most disappointing part about this place. Dishes would take really long time to arrive, water wasn’t refilled, and didn’t really feel welcomed with the attitude of the server. Also, you must pay 20% tip, or otherwise waiter chases you to the parking lot to ask for more. As I was walking back to my car, I was stopped by the waiter, who pressured/guilt trip me into handing her a cash tip, claiming the tip to be “expected” fee. By the way, there is 20% extra charge if you go after 11pm, and also 20% gratuity for a party of 5 or more. To the owner: I was really looking forward to this izakaya (Japanese pub) in Honolulu, but honestly, I can only say that I'm very disappointed. Is it written in the employee manual that the server chased me all the way to the parking lot after the bill because the tip wasn't enough, trying to get me to pay extra? I'm so shocked I'm speechless."
"Many different side dishes can be a pleasant surprise. I think you should try a little of each one!"
"Reservations were easy to make over the phone, best for smaller groups of 1-4 people (anything more would feel overwhelming) Cozy local spot, no BS, nice Awamori selection. This is a three-person show and they do an astounding job keeping things running! Loved being able to order a bunch of little smaller Okinawan plates so there was always something for each of us to try. Beef tongue was delicious, seared hamachi was divine, garlic fried rice was cozy delicious especially when paired with the simmered beef and vegetables. Dashimaki was silky delicious. Gyoza was top and felt like crisp pillows. Awamori and classic Japanese sours and highballs are available along with a selection of beer and sake to suit all palates. A true Izakaya. ありがとございました for having us dine with you!🙇♀️"
