Crowne Plaza Dulles Airport by IHG
This Crowne Plaza bar isn't a destination; it's a necessary evil for the business traveler or the stranded flyer, with an atmosphere that hums with the low thrum of travel fatigue and expense reports. It’s best for a solo whiskey or an awkward client meeting before a conference, offering nothing truly unique beyond being reliably *there* when everything else is closed or too far.

"If you get stranded at an airport with your flight and can't get anywhere, the Crown Plaza is a good place to stay. At least, that's always been my experience in Europe. However, compared to my previous Crown Plaza experiences on the other side of the Atlantic, this hotel is significantly lower quality. This was particularly noticeable in the service we received at check-in. After more than 20 hours of travel, a drink at check-in would have been appropriate. Instead, we were told we had to sit down again because the vouchers hadn't been processed yet. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to go to the restaurant because it wasn't clear that Lufthansa would actually cover our costs. For a hotel of this category, that was a very poor service experience. The problems and bad luck continued in the restaurant: my order was forgotten. After I inquired, it was placed again. Shortly afterward, it was discovered that my grilled salmon was no longer available. A real service nightmare. 😕 The room was very large, albeit a bit dated. The location was fine for us. The shuttle service was very good and friendly, but it probably wasn't part of the hotel."
"Stayed here to attend a conference. The staff were polite and the stay was quiet and there were no issues with my room. My only complaint was that the curtains had a rather large brown stain on them. I was perplexed by how the housekeeping staff did not see this when cleaning the room. The restaurant downstairs and bar area ran rather well. The fish and chips and vodka cran that I got was suitable. Not the most memorable or outstanding meal but also not bad either. So this is a four star hotel for me, it did its job but outside of staying for an event onsite I would’ve have booked just for leisure. The event I attended used the food and beverage service and it felt like staff were doing the very bare minimum. At one point we didn’t have coffee mugs for the coffee and tea lounge and staff were asked to restock the area but nothing ever came. There’s room for improvement in going above and beyond to really ensure an exceptional stay."
"Amazing hotel from the initial engagement with Roxane for check-in and our checking out with Salem! Will definitely be returning :)"
