"Absolutely phenomenal experience at Canlis! We did the 6-course tasting menu and every single dish was beautiful and completely delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the service was top notch from start to finish. They truly know how to make a night feel special. Highly recommend! Great for date nights and celebrations."

"We fulfilled our duty to Seattle recently. The space is gorgeous, but it isn’t entirely enough to prop up the rest of the experience. The highlight of our evening were the cocktails, which were both innovative and well-balanced. Food was good — the sourdough focaccia and amuse-bouche were outstanding, the halibut less so — but consistently over seasoned. The over seasoning was especially noticeable in the Canlis salad. Desserts were acceptable at best. All up, the experience was comparable to any aspiring haute cuisine restaurant, without being standout in any way. Decision making guide: 1/ Should you go once? Yes. 2/ Will I go back? Likely not. 3/ Did this excursion result in more happiness than the fifty Un Bien #1 sandwiches I could have bought with the same budget? Definitely not (assuming I didn’t eat all 50 sandwiches in one go)."

"We spent over $1,000 at Canlis on the pre coursed menu, a $180 ribeye supplement, and a $200 bottle of wine. Midway through dinner, a tiny handcrafted spoon went missing, and our server immediately made us feel accused of stealing it by pointing out its purchase price on the menu. From that moment, the service became noticeably cold, and another server eventually took over our table. A server accusing then going cold shoulder THEN switching servers was unbelievably uncalled for on so many counts. Mind you, we had been chatting it up with her the entire dinner. We were also assured a postcard we filled out would be mailed, but it never arrived. The food was good, but being treated like a suspect completely ruined what should have been a special dining experience. It was an awful ending to a great start over a missing $50 spoon."
