"I visited on Mother’s Day with my family - we ate and paid via credit card. A few days after, when reviewing my credit card, I noticed a discrepancy with the charge on my card compared to my receipt. The server rounded my credit card tip up to $15 from the $12.76 I left. As soon as I noticed this, I called the restaurant and spoke to Michael (the GM), who was very kind and apologetic for the situation. After he looked into the situation, he texted me a few days later and refunded me the entire tip portion of my bill for the inconvenience, which I did appreciate. I can’t say much as to the details of this, but my personal opinion is that this was not a mistake, but an intentional act. The tip I left was $12.76, not $15.00, meaning the server didn’t simply mistype one number in the credit car machine, he mistyped 3. While $2.24 isn’t much, it’s the principle of the matter, and that if this is happening regularly then it could be a considerable amount of money. My recommendation: this isn’t just for CPK, but for all restaurants—if you are paying by credit card, TAKE A PHOTO OF YOUR COMPLETED/SIGNED RECEIPT BEFORE YOU LEAVE. I never expected this to happen to me, but I was definitely shocked when it did. I greatly appreciate the professionalism of Michael, but after this experience, I most certainly will not be back. Take caution if you choose to dine here. EDIT: Responded to corporate and let them know the details, as well as requested a follow up. 3 weeks and zero response - guess they don't care if their employees commit credit card fraud."
