"I went to Boda just to dance and enjoy the night with a couple of friends. As we were going inside, several girls, including someone who wasn’t even part of our group, left some trash next to a closed dumpster, thinking there wasn’t a trash can nearby. Before I could even get inside, the security guard with the long braid stopped me. I was the only Black woman in a group of non-Black friends, and he confronted me about the trash. When he pointed it out, I was immediately willing to throw it away. I even thanked him. I want to be clear that it wasn’t my decision, and I would never litter. Instead of addressing everyone involved or simply letting me throw it away, he chose to single me out and make an example of me. He made me walk all the way to the dumpster and back, as if I needed to be taught a lesson. It felt humiliating, unnecessary, and deeply microaggressive, especially knowing multiple people were responsible and none of them were treated the same way. The interaction stayed with me for the rest of the night. It felt like I was seen first, judged quickly, and held responsible in a way that felt racially charged. What should have been a fun, carefree night turned into something uncomfortable and painful, and it completely shifted my mood."

"Amazing spot with a variety of different events they host, from raves to rnb concert! Just to lyk tho when they do 18+ you can’t bring your drinks out on the dance floor, but it’s nice to have a designated 21+ section to hangout! The bartenders are quick & attentive! And you have a designated smoking section in the back indoors!"
