"It is a good idea to reserve in advance for dining at 555 East American Steakhouse. I went there on a weekend and only because I was early enough that I could be seated at the bar as a solo diner. The steak was very good. The natural flavors were explosive. I had steak and frites and that is my favorite combination. The atmosphere at the bar was festive, although the overall ambience is more on the classy variety. I chatted with the very busy bar tender who entertained me wonderful conversations even though he had innumerable cocktails to make. Other diners were very friendly and we shared intelligence about what the best food was to get. I topped up the meal with apple tart and a black coffee and have not felt such satisfaction for a long time. One of the best memories in Long Beach."
